Tackhead is a band that seems to come and go as the whim of the particular artists involved. They were formed in the eighties and that decade seemed to be the most productive for them. They did go out on tour in 2004, but that seemed to be the most active they had been since the nineties. Although, it would appear that there will be a new album out for Christmas 2010. While, I would love to see these guys somewhere (anywhere) in concert, I’d settle for a new album. Considering there were only a couple of albums released under the Tackhead name, it’s nice to finally see a new one. Although the members of the band, including Doug Wimbish, Skip McDonald, and Keith Leblanc have certainly been busy little fellows, when it comes to releasing material on their own and with other artists. It does seem as if they have a certain organic relationship with the music. They go wherever it is and with whoever they can produce the best music with. It’s something, that the mainstream music business could probably take notice of.
