Alternative Press Sucks and Musician Tuner’s Got Game

That’s right! Musician Tuner magazine is the new guy in town and it has swagga! Although MusicianTuner.com sports that “Beta” logo, the site has the hype of a real competitor. Alternative Press holds sway over the independent music industry which is why (and how) a strong contender could become a game changer for the ‘American Music Magazine’.

That being said: By the looks of this new independently ran startup with the slogan “The Musician’s Music News”, a valid attempt at the independent music market is in order. According to sources, Musician Tuner Magazine is a team of two new to industry web developers who are dedicate to bringing this project to its potential. As far as readers have seen, the content of Alt Press is becoming watered down with marketing and featuring less and less respectable music. March’s cover featured My Chemical Romance and Bayside. No doubt its readers are slowly becoming more and more female 13-18 than male 13-35. That’s cool for Cosmo but not for independent music.

Musician Tuner looks like a true underdog story but in this day and age of web 3.0 underdogs are all that exist. That is why an independent music magazine beginning as an online ‘Musician’s Music News’ magazine may just have the right stuff to compete with the guys who are dying on the shelves at 711. All it takes is a trend and some elbow grease to get these types of things to pop off. A Facebook presence, some Twitter followers and charisma might just get an entrepreneurial project like this to flight. Online Music News Musician’s Must Know debuts in full October 1st at MusicianTuner.com
